Sometimes I Hate Humans

This past weekend, my neighbors weenie dog was stolen from her yard and killed. The person/people who took Jack tied wire around his neck five times to point that his eyes hemmoraged and threw him in the neighborhood pool to drown. The suspect is a 17 year old boy and his friend. Who in the hell could be so cruel? Scary that it’s a 17 year old also. His future looks promising.

I Don’t Swim in Your Toilet, so Please Don’t Pee In My Pool

I always thought that was so gross and people always have that posted at their pools. Anyway, my best friend and I started swimming at my neighborhood pool and it has really re-emphasized how out of freaking shape I am. We are so tired after just one lap. This isn’t even an Olympic sized pool, mind you. We met a man yesterday that told us that it’s (64!) laps to do one mile. That would honestly take us like 4 hours. Good news is that today I am sore in my arms and legs. Sore is good.

Snobby Dogs to Boot

This week’s shopping obsession is cute pet stuff. Next weekend is Petapalooza here in Austin and my doggies have got to be cute.
+++Morrco Pet Supply: cute pink and red studded collars. Are you kidding me with the cuteness? It didn’t come in Mazzy’s size so I had to skip on to this next one. So feminine. It doesn’t say “I’ll eat your children” one bit.
+++Sonja B’s Paw Prints: all so freaking cute. But also a little pricey. I had already ordered the heart one when I found these.
+++Trixie and Peanut: so Paris Hilton foo foo dog, but cute nonetheless.
+++Eloise, Inc: the pet pillows are cuter than hell. If my muppets wouldn’t tear those to pieces, I would have ten of them.
+++Fab Dog: a little disappointing that you can’t order online. Some of the cutest collars ever though. Check out the asian brocade under fabric collars.
+++Coach: yep, you got it right. Coach accessories for the pooch. Don’t you love America?

Shamu Is Working for the Man

My recap on Sea World/San Antonio. We had a really good time. It was a nice relaxing day. The weather was mild for this time of year and there wasn’t a drop of rain in sight. There is so much to see and do. It’s almost impossible to do it all in one day. We were there from 11 am to 9pm and still didn’t see everything. I rode a roller coaster for the first time in all of my 28 years! Wow, that’s a freaking thrill. My favorite one is the Great White. We went upside down and it was so cool. It’s also great being this age cause you don’t care anymore if you are cool or not. I think this is the first time in my life that I’ve actually noticed that. When we first got there, I bought myself and my friend’s six year old niece these tacky ass visors with dolphins on them. Eventually I’ll have pictures to show of it.

Things that were not so great were: 1.) pink flamingos-not so much pink as peach. 2.) obese people everywhere I looked in bikinis. Not skinny my damn self but do know what not to wear. 3.) HAIRY HAIRY backs. 4.) women wearing high heels. Don’t know why other peoples’ stupidity bothers me, but it does. You walk a lot at Sea World. I got a blister from sneakers. 5.) Expensive crap. All Shamu themed. Shamu cup with watered down coke/ $8.59. Bottle of luke warm Aquafina water/$2.59. Bag of popcorn/$3.71. Shamu soft serve/$3.56. Stuffed Shamu/ $more than you have in your wallet.

Speaking of Obsessions…

We have a cool movie theatre company with a few locations here in Austin called Alamo Draft House. It’s a restuarant/bar/movie theatre. It’s really cool and they do some pretty fun stuff. In a few weeks, they will be showing the movie Tron and this guy will be there. Should be a good time.

You’re My Obsession

Every week it seems that I take on a new shopping obsession. It may be shoes one week, athletic clothes the next and then it will switch to beauty products. I scour the internet and find some really cool things, so I thought I’d share my weekly cool finds with you guys. This week’s obsession is home decor and gifts. This one is recurring.
***Zipper Gifts: my personal favorite here is the glass coral on the Sensuous Homes page.
***Red Envelope: I recommend the personalized photo coasters. Makes a great new baby or wedding gift.
*** Party Lights: I love love the paper lanterns. They have good prices and some beautiful designs.
***Michele Varian: I am loving the dragon pillow and the gorgeous duvet covers.

AVP

Tonight, the boy and I went to see Alien v. Predator. It was cool. Definitely worth seeing on the big screen. Kind of goofy at times, but worth the money. Tomorrow we are going to Sea World. Big fishes and 100 degree weather in Texas. Woo hoo. We actually had a cool front this week and the high was only like 92 most days. It’s hilarious that is considered a cool front. I managed to get up and cut my whole entire yard though on Thursday. It is usually 90 degrees by 10 a.m. here and it was only 75 or so on Thursday. I wish it would stay this way. As soon as it actually cools off and becomes enjoyable, it will be Cedar allergy season and it will be beautiful but we’ll all be sick.

In Love Again and Again

I’m sorry for not being the one that needs to be there for you. I’ve done a lot of soul searching and have come to the conclusion that I have to change the things in my life that have gotten me nowhere. I can not make good decisions with the same mind that has gotten me into bad situations! Be standoffish with this as you may, but know that I’m gonna try to be the man you want, need. HELP ME be a better person! Allow me to show you the same love you have given to me for soooo long.

This is the comment posted tonight by my boyfriend/ex boyfriend. This has been a confusing and heartbreaking situation for so long. It’s been like a roller coaster and I never know exactly how he feels about me. We’ve been together seven years and apparently now we are both in the same boat on making this work. Just wanted to give you guys an update.

Way to My Heart

I don’t know if anyone else has this little problem in their life, but the people that are closest to me do not read my blog. Now I’m not talking about my Mom or family cause I haven’t even told them about it. I’m talking about my close friends and ex-boyfriend. Now all of them have checked it probably that one time that I asked them to, but checking it on a weekly basis even is not something they do. Should I let this be something that irks me? If I was dating someone, I would want to read it and see what was going on in their head. But that’s maybe just me and also why he is my EX boyfriend. I guess we can file that under “it wasn’t about him so it wasn’t important” category. And I’ll tell some of my friends something about a post I put up and they say “Oh, I haven’t read it in a while. I’ll have to check that.” Am I thinking that I’m more important than I really am? On a sidenote, I dearly love and appreciate the people that do actually read me. I think we have a neat little circle of people here in cyberland and we’ve gotten to know a lot about each other through our blogs. I like having new friends in London, Arkansas, Houston, Phoenix, Ontario, Chicago, Virginia, New York, and Los Angeles.

Blogroll My Ass

So, I wanted to be able to see when people on my blogroll have updated their blogs without reading each one everyday. I went in and set my preferences and so now it says “new:)” next to the links that supposedly have “new, smiley face” posts. However, it is not so. The “new:)” are showing up next to links that have not been updated in forever and not showing up next to ones that have. Hmph!

Why is it always so difficult?

I’ve had a series of really challenging life events this past year. I just don’t understand how it doesn’t seem to get any better for me. I have experienced depression like no other time in my life here lately. As soon as things start to get okay, it’s like I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. I feel like there is no way things can just go smoothly for me for too long of a period of time. I cover all of this crap up with being funny or trying to laugh, but I’ve come to the realization that I genuinely am not happy. It’s crazy, I really have a good life. I have a house, I have a job, two dogs that I adore, great friends, and an awesome family. Shouldn’t that be enough?
